How We Charted Our Path Around the World!
Hey there, fellow wanderlusters and dreamers! Today, we want to spill the beans on how Carolyn and I, the adventurous duo behind Our Epic Babymoon, meticulously planned our route for our journey around the world. Strap in and get ready for a rollercoaster ride of travel inspiration, witty anecdotes, and some good ol' wanderlust fuel!
Chapter 1: Choosing Our Starting Point
We decided to kick off our grand adventure by taking the cheapest and closest one-way flight we could find, which led us to the vibrant city of Bogota, Colombia. We figured, "Why not start with a bang?" We decided to spend three months in South America. With no real timeline, other than we wanted to be back in America for our nephew’s birthday, we gave ourselves the flexibility to go wherever we wanted, for as long or short, as we wanted.
Chapter 2: Embracing South America
With three months at our disposal, it made sense to immerse ourselves in the enchanting landscapes, rich cultures, and delectable cuisines of South America. In order to do this, however, we knew we would need to stay a little longer in cities/countries to help with the budget and to experience what our destinations had to offer. Currently, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Ecuador are the countries we will visit while in South America.

Chapter 3: Home Sweet Home
Of course, life sometimes calls us back home for special occasions, and we wouldn't miss our nephew's birthday for the world. So, after our South American escapades, we'll be hopping on a flight back home, making sure to shower the our favorite little guy with love and celebrate this milestone with our family.
Chapter 4: Kiwi Dreams
Once we've soaked up the family time, it's time to jet off to the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand. A month of exploring the North and South Islands, hiking through otherworldly fjords, and basking in the awe-inspiring beauty of this paradise is just what our adventurous souls crave. Carolyn is a BIG Lord of the Rings nerd, and has mapped out PLENTY of filming locations for us to visit. We also plan to rent a camper van and drive through the islands! #nomadiclife
Chapter 5: Down Under and Beyond
From New Zealand, our Epic Babymoon continues as we plan to head to Australia, ready to encounter kangaroos, visit a few friends, and savor Vegemite (hey, we're up for trying anything at least once!). Our journey then takes us through the vast expanse of Oceania and into Southeast Asia. Daniel is very excited to visit South Korea and Thailand! Sadly, Japan will not be on the docket this trip, but we plan to make a special trip another time!
Chapter 6: The World is Our Oyster
As we make our way to Europe, we'll let our curiosity guide us, uncovering hidden gems, indulging in local delicacies, and getting lost in the enchantment of each city we encounter. Carolyn wants to be in Germany for Christmas Markets, so we plan to make a stop there. As well as to visit some new friends we made in Colombia! From there, the rest of the world is ours to explore—Northern Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. The possibilities are endless, and our spirits are high as we leave no stone unturned.
